I wish to be able to get rid of the black background on my home screen. I want to see my wallpaper!

Look and feel customization: I want to customize the background of home screen, the slider color etc. You can do all this with a jail broken phone.

Flash. Transparent Dock. Cancel an alarm without having to swipe. Have my Wallpaper dimmed as a background on Springboard.
