I want to choose my text alert sounds. They should be as customizable as ring tones.

If the ringer volume is at zero, or the phone has been set to vibrate, PLEASE have some visual indicator on the main menu page. With protectors and covers, it is often hard to see or remember that the sound is off and many calls and texts are missed.

Serious business users need loud alarms to remind for meetings. The alarms should have the ability to keep repeating loudly until turned off. Right now we can't even customize the alarm sound. The alarms should also be able to be automatically set for all new calendar appointments.

Allow 'working times' to be applied to email retrieval. I want email to be downloaded during awake hours, but when I am asleep, I don't want to have to put the phone on silent to allow me that precious sleep. My last phone (Symbian) allowed this, surely apple can. Until then, the iPhone is on silent as I sleep, and important calls/messages get missed.

I want the silent switch to mute the sounds on the third-party Apps so I don't have to go to the App's setting page and mute the volume or press the volume down button. So I can use the App without people looking at me in a quiet place.

How about the ability to change my email notification to a sound that is actually audible. My phone notification can scare me its so loud , but I can barely hear an email in a quiet room with the phone right in front of me.

Please increase the volume of the earpiece, speaker and ring tone. Volume is way too low, miss too many calls and can't hear people when on the phone in a crowded room

When I turn my phone onto silent/vibrate, I'd like to be able to set a time for it to turn on again. E.g. if it's 8pm and you are about to go into a 2-hour movie, I can set my phone to be in Silent mode for the next 120 minutes only, or to turn back on at 10pm or whatever. In the early 2000s, I had an old Nokia that did that, but I haven't found that feature on any phones since.

Complex vibration. Ability to set "morse code"-like vibrations to Contacts, in such a way that the user can determine who's calling without having to interact with the phone. E.g. 3 long = my main squeeze. Setting for "all calls" or "only when silent."

Profiles. Every phone I have ever owned has had the possibility of saving presets for ringer volume, vibrate mode, ringtone, screen brightness etc so that you can easily switch between them for nighttime, meetings, car use etc. The iPhone only has silent/not silent, we need profiles!
