Integrate Calendar with Google Maps. If I go to the trouble of putting in the location for an event in iCal, I want to be able to navigate to it without having to memorise it and re-enter it.

I would like some sort of Today screen that could show appointments, unread emails, etc. when the phone is locked. Of course, it would be an option to turn on and off.

a flashing LED notification for when I receive a new message (email, text, vmail), very much like Blackberry. It's really not hard to do. The sound notification is nice but every time I leave my phone and go away (bathroom, to my car, get a beer out of the fridge, etc) I have to check my phone for new messages, which an LED indicator will solve....

Allow categories in Contacts, so I can keep my private and business contacts separate; I want to be able to sync business contacts with a computer at work and personal contacts with a home computer and not 'infect' each with the other's data. Do the same for Notes and Calendar too and you'll be half way there!

Why why why can I search contacts, but not the calendar? iCal on the Mac has excellent calendar search; add it to the iPhone please! (And third parties stand ready to do this if you don't want to; why won't you let them?)

Calendar settings should allow for pre-set notifications, etc. Total pain in the *ss to have to remember adding an alert.

The calendar application takes TOO MANY STEPS to enter an appointment! Why not hold finger on the time (like the edit magnifying glass feature in text editing), and type the appointment title in a popup? It's way too cumbersome now and too slow when I'm on the phone setting up a meeting

Birthdays should have alarm reminders. It makes no sense to have to pull up a contact's info to find out that their Birthday was last week?! I can't always remember beforehand but my iPhone should!

Calendar problems caused by changed Time Zones... when I enter a time for an appointment, I do not want it to change when I change my time zone. Please Steve, offer us an option to keep Appointment Times fixed, instead of having to add their start and/or finsish times in the name of the appointment, to compensate for magic time zone adjustments.

Please sync the Microsoft Outlook Task List along with Calendar and Contacts. Task List is essentially a part of the calendar. Every other smartphone on the road does it.

iPhone needs an efficient way to locate contacts (by name or company) and a search capability to search the entire contact data base (all fields). Blackberry, gets you to any individual contact with a couple of keystrokes. It's problematic on the iPhone. Perhaps a single icon that would bring up an efficient search bar for contacts?

Make the entire iPhone searchable. Or at least contacts, notes, calendar, and other standard apps. Pretty much like Spotlight in OSX. Seems like that could be useful.

Please add an option where you can choose to have your next 5 or so calendar events appear on the Unlock screen. Currently the Unlock screen has a big chunk of wasted space that could be used to help me keep my day in order. At the very least we need a number badge added to the Calendar app button to show you how many events you have that day.

I would like longer options for alerts in the calender, at least one week ahead and also two weeks too, it would be handy for long term events. There is an option for a second alert already, this would be a great compliment to that.

When you made the iPhone work with Exchange I was ecstatic that I could finally get an iPhone and ditch my old windows mobile phone. But how about real Exchange Apple? How about the full shabang? How about allowing us to send meeting invitations right from our iPhones? Or better yet, how about Apple Exchange!? Ok, I'll settle for full fledged Microsoft Exchange... for now.
